Miscellaneous > Why not just trade cards via some message board?There are a lot of reasons buying and selling cards through CardJones is better than directly trading cards with somebody else over the Internet. They're pretty much the reasons money was invented in the first place!
Here are some of the benefits of CardJones over direct card-swapping:
- You don't need to find ONE special person who has a card you need AND wants a card you have.
- You are sure to get a fair value for your cards.
- It's easier to find somebody interested in one particular card of yours than a large group of your cards.
- It's easier to just pick all the cards you want with a shopping cart than to look for somebody offering all the cards you need, who also wants cards you have.
- No negotiation.
- You can trust the whole transaction. Buyers pay first so sellers can trust them, sellers have a reputation from previous transactions so buyers can trust them.
- You can actually make money from your cards instead of just trading them for other cards!
But of course, trading cards and using CardJones are not mutually exclusive! There's no reason not to just list your cards for sale on CardJones while still listing them in your "haves" list. If you trade a card, it's simple to remove it from your for sale inventory here, and if you sell a card here, you just update your "haves" list!
